A Note from the Founder
Why I Built Zeon Micro
For more than 70 years, my family has worked in the watch industry. The story began when my grandfather founded Herald Trading to import Swiss watches into Asia, before the business expanded into manufacturing and brand building through Herald Holdings and Zeon Limited.
Growing up around the business, watches became a personal passion early on—from collecting Fossil and Swatch watches as a kid to developing a deeper appreciation for vintage watches and independent brands.
I ultimately followed my own entrepreneurial path, building a career in technology and founding a startup that I later exited. But watches remained a constant throughout.
When I discovered the microbrand world, it felt immediately familiar. It had the creativity, ambition, and founder-led energy I loved about tech startups, but within an industry connected to my family heritage and my own passion as a collector.
I launched The Micro Collector podcast to immerse myself in the community, meet the founders shaping it, and better understand their journeys and challenges. Across those conversations, I began to recognize a recurring problem: ambitious founders were often left to navigate a fragmented and complex product-development process largely on their own.
Zeon Micro is my answer to that problem. By combining the proven manufacturing infrastructure and industry experience built through Herald and Zeon with a founder's perspective and a collector's understanding, we aim to give microbrands a more thoughtful, transparent, and accountable path from concept to finished watch.
